Of a Comb, a Prayer Book, Sugar Cubes and Lice is a series of interviews between Shana Fogarty Shah and her grandmother, Elizabeth Blum Goldstein. Born in Hungary, Elizabeth and her family were taken from their home, sent to a ghetto, and transported to concentration camps during the Holocaust. Elizabeth, a teenager at the time, survived six concentration camps, but lost most of her family. By the time she was liberated from Bergen-Belsen, she was nineteen years old and weighed 54 pounds.
